Strategic Position for Africa’s Youth

This position will be filled by the next President of the African Union Commission, with elections scheduled for February 2025 in Addis Ababa, as reported in the meeting’s minutes. Nakwipone detailed the national and international strategies in place to ensure the nomination of the aforementioned candidate for this crucial role.

Youth Empowerment and Decision-Making

At a previous council of ministers meeting where this matter was first broached, Nakwipone emphasized the strategic importance of this role, which she believes falls directly under the authority of the current President of the African Union. “This candidacy embodies the aspirations of Congolese youth and our ambition to actively participate in the construction of a united and prosperous continent,” stated Nakwipone, Minister of Youth and Patriotic Awakening.

Upcoming African Union Summit

The next African Union summit is set to take place in February 2025 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. In addition to the inauguration of the new President of the African Union, the African Union Commission will undergo a leadership renewal process.
