In a shocking turn of events, a fire broke out at the diamond sorting center of the Anhui Mining Investment Company (SACIM) in Miabi, Kasaï-Oriental. The president of the civil society of Miabi, Placide Lufuluabo, who visited the site, reported that 12 electrical control panels at the center were completely destroyed by the blaze.
