Five Bodies Discovered in Lubumbashi, Including Three in Kamalondo
In a troubling series of events, the city of Lubumbashi, the capital of the Haut-Katanga province, has been rocked by the discovery of multiple lifeless bodies. Just a week after the body of journalist Patrick Adonis Numbi Banze was found in Matshipisha, more bodies have been uncovered, adding to the growing sense of insecurity in the area. The latest grim findings include a total of five bodies uncovered in various locations, with three of them found in the Kamalondo commune near the city center on Monday, January 13, 2025.
Details of the Discoveries
The first body was found in the gutters outside Radio Maria, near Camp Vangu on Sendwe Avenue. Another body was discovered at the intersection of School Avenues and Sendwe, close to Wema High School, while a third body was located in the gutters next to Nuru School. The remaining two bodies were spotted at the Assistant’s Camp in the Lubumbashi commune, and the fifth body was found at the entrance of a tunnel in the Kampemba commune, as reported by ACTUALITE.CD earlier today.
Response from Authorities
Following the previous discovery of journalist Adonis Numbi’s body, Governor Jacques Kyabula Katwe of Haut-Katanga had urged the community to come together and report any suspicious incidents.
