We built it and equipped it with all the fancy stuff to better welcome our Congolese friends from all walks of life and share with them the vast opportunities of Chinese modernization. China is continuing its modernization with high-quality development, while the DRC has entered a new phase of development,” explained Zhao Bin, the Chinese Ambassador to the DRC.
This new chancery, with its majestic style and ingeniously designed architecture, is seen as a new showcase of China demonstrating its prosperity, development, reliability, and sense of responsibility. Located right in the heart of Kinshasa, the Chinese side hopes that this new chancery will play the role of a mirror reflecting the rich connotation of Chinese modernization and the bright prospects of Sino-Congolese friendship and cooperation.
“As a country with a long history and the cradle of a civilization that’s thousands of years old, China has always believed in coexistence, inclusion, respect for the diversity of civilizations, and the promotion of common human values. In this spirit, it promotes exchanges and peaceful and harmonious coexistence between the different civilizations of the world,” declared the Chinese Ambassador to the DRC.
This new chancery embodies a modernization marked by diversity and inclusion. The architecture of the new chancery integrates Chinese and African characteristics. The color of the building’s exterior walls echoes the African beige, and the bronze sculptures in the building and the flourishing local flowers in the courtyard pay tribute to Congolese aesthetics.
The stone hitching posts for horses in front of the main entrance, the panda decorations on the lawn, and the carved glass windows reveal traditional Chinese art. Additionally, the art pieces in the lobby and reception rooms were jointly created by Chinese and Congolese artists.
In the lobby, there was an exhibition of works by artists from the Academy of Fine Arts in Kinshasa for the opening. It highlighted the long-standing friendship between the two countries.
