Senator Jean Tshisekedi’s Heartfelt Journey to Bena Mande and UPKAN
Senator Jean Tshisekedi Kabasele of the Kasaï Central province is making the most of his parliamentary vacation in Kananga, the provincial capital. Last weekend and the beginning of this week have been particularly eventful for this elected official.
A Day of Engagement and Promises
On Saturday, December 28th, Jean Tshisekedi made his way to the Université Pédagogique de Kananga (UPKAN) and the Ndesha commune. At UPKAN, he had a lengthy discussion with the institution’s rector, who highlighted the current challenges they are facing. Senator Tshisekedi assured that he noted these concerns and pledged to bring them to the attention of decision-makers.
At Ndesha, specifically in Mission, Jean Tshisekedi was greeted by thousands of people, including members of his foundation, FJTK. Together with the locals, they discussed the promises made by the head of state during his recent visit to Kananga, emphasizing their swift realization. He also took the opportunity to raise awareness about President Félix Tshisekedi’s constitutional reform project, reiterating their party’s stance of “change or nothing.” The visit concluded with the distribution of goods, including textiles for the mothers and shovels for the young boys to combat erosion in the province.
A Return to Roots in Bena Mande
On Monday, December 30th, Senator Tshisekedi returned to his hometown, Bena Mande. “Every time I set foot on this land, it’s a true homecoming, a journey into the past where every corner, every landscape, bears witness to thousands of memories of my life. These are precious moments that feed my heart and mind,” he shared.
During his visit to Bena Mande, he inspected various projects initiated by his foundation, FJTK. One of the most significant projects is the maternity ward in Bena Mande, which he describes as “a true cornerstone for the community’s health.” He also provided roofing sheets for the completion of a school to offer children a conducive learning environment. In a continuous effort to address the community’s need for clean water access, he handed over three boreholes to the locals.
Senator Jean Tshisekedi reflected on the emotional moments, saying, “Seeing the smiles, hearing the gratitude, and feeling that human warmth deeply touched me. It reminded me of the importance of our commitment to our community and the role we all must play in its development.”
Senator Jean Tshisekedi’s dedication to serving his constituents and uplifting his community shines through his actions during this parliamentary recess, demonstrating a genuine connection to the people he represents.
